50 Cent has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday, July 13, according to the Wall Street Journal and Billboard.
In court papers filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 50 Cent (Real name Curtis Jackson), filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The filing comes just days after a jury ordered 50 Cent to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston (Rick Ross; baby mama) who claims the rapper acquired a sex tape she made with her boyfriend at the time, which he used in a 2009 13-minute video featuring him as commentator, taunting Leviston and Ross. In a statement issued by 50 Cent's lawyer, "“This filing for personal bankruptcy protection permits Mr. Jackson to continue his involvement with various business interests and continue his work as an entertainer, while he pursues an orderly reorganization of his financial affairs.” (Source: Wall Street Journal)
Is 50 Cent only worth fifty cent now? What purpose did it serve to taunt someone over sex tape?
Perhaps he should focus on getting money and not being petty. #JustSaying
